The ideal months for Roopkund are May – June & September – October. During these windows, trail conditions are optimal, weather is most predictable, and you'll get the best mountain visibility. Departure batches are scheduled exclusively within these season windows to ensure the best possible experience.
Tip: Early-season and late-season departures often have more availability and occasionally lower prices. Mid-season batches (especially around holidays and long weekends) fill fastest.
Roopkund is rated Challenging — this is a serious high-altitude trek. You will reach 4,800 m with steep glacial moraine sections and potential snow. Prior multi-day trekking experience above 3,500 m is strongly recommended. You should be able to walk 8–10 hours on consecutive days at altitude. Start cardiovascular training (running, cycling, stair climbing) at least 8 weeks before your departure date. Smaller group sizes (12 max) ensure more individual attention from the guide.
